KRUEGER SWIM TEAM (RECREATIONAL SWIM TEAM)

For all those swimmers interested in recreational swimming, here’s your chance!  Emphasis on stroke and skill development, plus conditioning, will be part of this program.  All practices will be designed according to age and skill.  MUST be able to swim one length of the pool to participate on the Krueger Swim Team.

LEARN TO LOG ROLL AT THE KRUEGER POOL

AGES:  6 to adult

Log rolling is a sport that has evolved into a serious athletic event featured on ESPN Outdoor.Life, and more. Teach students of all ages basic log rolling skills and provide a fun environment in which participants can learn a new skill and make new friends!


BIRTHDAY PARTY AT KRUEGER POOL!

Let the staff at Krueger Swimming Pool make it a day that your child will remember! The birthday package includes admission up to 15 people ( Children or Adults), announcement of your child’s party over our speaker system, designated party area, (2) Large 1-topping pizza’s from Pizza Hut (2) 2-liters of soda, paper plates, napkins & utensils. If your party consists of more than 15 people, each additional guest is $2.75, and each additional pizza is $11.00. Parties must be reserved at least 5 days in advance at the Parks and Recreation Office, 2351 Springbrook Ct., 608-364-2890.

TENNIS LESSONS

LOCATION: Beloit Memorial High School Tennis Courts

Ages 3-6: 9:00 am to 9:45 am – $25

Description:  Using Quick Start approach, children are taught using balls that bounce lower and don’t move as fast so they are easier to hit.

Ages 7-8: 9:45 am to 10:30 am – $25

Description:  Students will further develop tennis strokes,volleys and the serve.  Footwork drills and pint playing will be introduced.

Ages 9-12: 10:30 am to Noon – $50

Description:  Students will refine stroke mechanics with major emphasis on improving the consistency and accuracy of groundstrokes, volleys, overheads and learning the rules of the game.

Ages 13-18: Noon to 1:30 pm – $50

Description:  This group is designed for high school players or advanced middle schoolers.  Drills become more intense and focused on strategy, point play for singles and doubles.

Adults: 8:00 am to 9:00 am – $35 -Description:  All levels are welcome from Beginner to Advanced.  Drills will work on technique, strategy, and point play.  Drills will be fast paced and keep you moving!

Tournament against 7 Park & Rec Programs! This tournament is included in the cost of the youth tennis lessons and only for those who sign up for the above youth tennis lessons.  The tournament is held indoors at Premier Tennis and Fitness, located at 3410 Bell Street in Janesville (behind Target).  This is a great opportunity to show what you have learned each session by competing in a tournament against players from the Rec youth tennis programs.  Points will be awarded at the tournament to each program/city based on attendance and success in the games/matches played.  There will be prizes given out to the Park & Rec program with the most points accumulated during the tournament as well as prizes given out to individual winners.


BIG HILL & WELTY ENVIRONMENTAL ADVENTURE CAMP

FEES: 8:15 am to 3:30 pm: $85/camper/week  for City of Beloit residents and $95.00 for non-residents per week

Family of 2+  will receive a $5.00 discount per child after 1st registration

Get ready for the best Big Hill Summer Camp ever! This year the City of Beloit and Welty Environmental Center are combining forces to bring you a summer packed full of great nature and recreation activities.  Come hike, bike, swim, fish, explore, kayak, bird watch, craft, experiment, collect, garden, and more.  We will spend part of the time at Big Hill Park, take weekly field trips around Beloit to Krueger Pool, the Lagoon, Pohlman Field, and other local sites. Drop off and pick up location is at the Big Hill Center.


WACKY WEDNESDAY CAMP

Join our Wacky Camp Staff at Leeson Park for a summer filled with FUN! Each Wednesday we will make new friends,
play outdoor games, create crafts and explore the creek and beautiful park! Register early, limited space.

CRAZY CRITTER CAMP

This three day camp allows youngsters to get a taste of our Adventure Camp!  Activities will include arts and crafts, new games and activities, snacks and discoveries with focus on nature. Campers will explore their natural surroundings at beautiful Big Hill Park, while meeting new friends and camp staff. Registration Deadline is: August 23, 2019 by Noon.

SUMMER FUN

Pick the park closest to you and join our park staff this summer! This program is designed to help the youth in our community stay fit, have fun and build friendships with each other and our staff. Includes free trips to the Krueger Pool for our “regular attendees”.

JR HIGH SAND VOLLEYBALL CAMP

This is an introduction to sand volleyball, intended for all skill levels. We will randomly select teams each week, learn to properly pass and set, and get to know one another. Join us for this fun 7 week camp! All participants will get a Sand Volleyball Camp t-shirt for successfully completing camp! Successful=show up, contribute, have fun! (12 min, 24 max)

DIRTY DASH

Saturday, August 24, 2019 The Beloit Dirty Dash is open to kids, 4-18 years old who are looking for a fun yet challenging obstacle course. We guarantee participants will get dirty and sweaty! There will be several obstacles and at least one mud pit on each course! We suggest wearing comfortable clothing and shoes that you won’t mind getting dirty. Costumes and groups are also encouraged!

SQUIRTS CAMP

Participants will have a variety of fun as they experience age appropriate games, physical activity, crafts, and outdoor exploration.


4th of July Bike Decorating Parade Ages 3 to 12

9 am decorating and 10 am is the parade!  Free to the first 50 kids – MUST REGISTER BY JULY 2ND.  Bring your bike, scooter or hot wheels to the Harry Moore Pavilion in Riverside Park. Awards will be presented for most creative.


Family Movie & Coin Carnival in the Park

DATE: July 3, 2019

PLACE:  Jones Pavilion at Riverside Park

FREE MOVIE. Carnival is .25 per game or unlimited games wrist band for $5

Create a painting on an 8x10 stretched canvas with guided instruction. Learn basic painting theories, new brush techniques and gain artistic skills using acrylic paints. AUTUMN ACTIVITIES:

Recreational Tree Climbing

LOCATION: Leeson Park
DATES: September 14, 2019
DAY: Saturday
TIME: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
FEES: $30.00 per person
AGES: 7 to adult

Guided by trained, certified staff, participants will climb into trees utilizing ropes, saddles and techniques according to industry safety standards, as well as minimizing the impact on the trees. Climbers will progress at their own pace, on their own rope. This activity helps to build self-confidence and creates and strengthens awareness and appreciation for community trees and parks. Pumpkins in the Park

LOCATION: Big Hill Park

Participants will bring their own pumpkins for decorating and will participate in pumpkin rolling, (pumpkins provided by City of Beloit) pumpkin decorating with paint, a pumpkin hunt, and enjoy pumpkin flavored snacks!

Skate Park

Telfer Park has skate park which is available for skateboarding, roller blades, and BMX riders. This unique “hybrid” skate park contains modular ramp elements for “pro” skaters, concrete stairs and metal rails for “street” skaters. Please click here for details.
